The Back 40 Museum is both a whimsical and a serious place (kinda' like life).  It offers many fanciful exhibits. These are merely intended to give the visitor a mostly effortless pause - similar to that of surfing a magazine.  On the other hand, The Back 40 also presents an array of serious and  important ideas, especially in the Reading Rooms.  So, you choose - fanciful or serious? Either way, The Back 40 is a great place to wander in non-demanding solitude.

About This Book  Every so often, the geopolitical plates of this world undergo a tectonic shift.  In such times, the manageable status quo of life begins to evaporate. And, with it goes life’s positive outlook.  The world gets nervous.  And, everything seems to trend downward and toward the Darkness.

Now is such a time.  America is in a weakened condition.  And, as a result, the assault by the Darkness has greatly ramped up and is ever more damaging.  And, the simple reality is this.  At this point in time, as America goes, so goes the whole world.

Nevertheless, even at this late historical hour, most Americans are still wrapped in a kind of normalcy bias – deluding themselves into believing that the next election or some upcoming financial correction will put things right again.  And then, all things will go on as before.  But that is not the case this time.

The present planetary shifting indicates a force for change that is not simply based in political philosophies, financial currents, or human behavior.   It is based in the timetable and intentions of the Governing Creator’s end game.

This book is an attempt to connect the major dots which have brought us to, and largely defined, these times.  Indeed, the book is a work of fiction.  But sometimes – and this time – fiction is truth’s great ally.

For example, Devil Whispers takes careful aim at the now widely accepted heresies which have decimated the vitality and credibility of the Protestant Evangelical Church.  And, it puts a full face to the Darkness which is presently so negatively impacting our world. And finally, it calls out the convenient stupidity which so many now confidently, but mistakenly, embrace as a viable relationship with God.

Devil Whispers is, indeed, a unique book that deserves to be read and seriously considered regarding its larger implications.  It is not a polite book.  It is not a tactfully ambiguous book.  It harbors no mental fog bank in which the reader can comfortably hide.

Rather, it is a book meant to challenge modern pop-preaching and religious and secular propaganda.  It is meant to call out the Darkness in both the physical and the metaphysical dimension.  And, it is meant to be a truly impactful reality-check for both the Church and the secular culture.

Those who have reviewed Devil Whispers thus far, with few exceptions, share a similar initial reaction.  In a word, it is a pondering silence, born of some surprise.  And, it is true, the book does, very starkly, fly in the face of what often goes for normality in these times.  But, in fact, as its author, it is for this very reason that I believe this book truly serves the redemptive intentions of our loving Creator in these increasingly desperate times.   - Larry Burnett
